“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it…” // John 5:5

Dear friend, when the Holy Spirit breathed these words through St. John, we were given more than a theological truth… we were entrusted with a mission. From generation to generation, the light of Christ shines on through men and women, just like you and I, who have offered their lives to share Christ’s light into the surrounding world. These souls move forward in humble boldness, receiving the faith that was handed to them, and courageously passing it onto the next generation.

The staff, volunteers, and group leaders of the Steubenville South Youth Conference view this process of handing on the faith as our primary mission – and we can’t wait to continue it!

The Steubenville South High School Youth Conference will be held June 24 – 26, 2022, at the Randolph Riverfront Center in downtown Alexandria. And, we are asking those who know and love Christ and their Catholic faith to share the light once again. This year will be our twenty-sixth conference here in the Diocese of Alexandria, and we are on a mission to lead teens and their families closer to Christ.

The theme for this year’s conference is “Fearless,” taken from John 16:33: “I have told you this so that you might have peace in me. In the world you will have trouble, but take courage, I have conquered the world.”

Throughout Scripture, the Lord tells us again and again, “Be not afraid,” and he continues to speak these words to us today. This summer, hundreds of Catholic teens and adults will once again join us from around the community, state, and other parts of the country to experience the love of God. We need your help to fuel this mission so we can reach every teen. We humbly invite you to partner with us as we raise up a generation of young people to live for Jesus, and his Church.

We’d like to give an overwhelming thank you to the organizations who have come alongside the Steubenville South Conference office as we bring Christ to the youth of our Church! We are so thankful for our many partners and their dedication to our community. Together, we are awakening the hearts of young people and providing opportunities for encounter and growth!
